Tallow is rich in fat soluble vitamins and essential fatty acids. It closely mimics the natural composition of human sebum, allowing it to penetrate deeply and support the skin’s barrier function. Tallow delivers lasting moisture and cellular nourishment, promoting skin elasticity, resilience, and repair. Its bioavailability makes it especially soothing for sensitive, dry, or inflamed skin. It is an excellent remedy for all skin types, from dry to acne-prone. The tallow in Alpenglow is rendered in house from local grass-fed cattle.

The medicinal plants chosen for Alpenglow, provide cooling, soothing, anti-inflammatory properties which promote tissue regeneration, tone, and balance. Calendula is the queen of skin herbs. It gently stimulates lymph flow and promotes tissue regeneration. Yarrow tones the skin and imparts anti-inflammatory properties while Violet softens the skin and offers soothing, cooling relief. Chamomile reduces redness and irritation while Lavender calms both the skin and the mind, encouraging rest and repair. All of the medicinal plants are wildcrafted or grown in the Columbia Valley, BC.

Alpenglow contains non-nano zinc oxide which provides sun protection at a level of 8 SPF. It also contains essential oils at a 1% dilution rate, suitable for the face. Although Alpenglow looks like and has the texture of cream, it is technically a balm as it is an oil based formula and contains no water. It is for this reason that Alpenglow does not need any preservatives. It does contain Vitamin E to reduce oxidation of the oils, and for added skin benefits.

Alpenglow can be applied intuitively, as needed. Once or twice daily works well for most people. The cream is best applied on a damp or misted face. Start with a small amount and add more as needed - a little goes a long way! It can also be used on other parts of the body and is excellent for irritated, inflamed areas. It should be stored at room temperature or cooler, and is stable for a year from purchase.
